The original announcement referenced block #974596, but the subsequent launch update moved to block #974597. That block has now been mined, and Shuffle has published the associated client seed:

Using a Bitcoin block that hadn't yet been mined when the game was announced adds another layer of transparency. Its eventual hash couldn't be known or selected in advance by Shuffle, providing an external source of randomness for the game's results.

Together, the hash chain and Bitcoin block information allow players to check that the game's outcomes follow the announced process rather than being changed after the fact.
